Red Rock K9 Puppy Excels in the Agility Ring
I wanted to share my story around how wonderful the experience has been for me in working with Sam and Linsey Vivona proud owners of Red Rock K9 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
As many of you know, I tragically lost my 4 year old GSD Indy about 2 years ago. I was more than devastated. I was really almost at the point of throwing in the towel and not go through the heart ache of training another GSD especially for agility. I had spent an enormous amount of time working with her due to her aggression issues and fear issues. We had worked through so much and actually got her all the way to a MACH and she was 2 double queues away from her MACH 2. Then in the blink of an eye, she was gone.
Before I got Indy, I had done so much research on German Shepherd breeders and before I lost Indy, Red Rock K9 never came up in any searches. About a week later, I just decided to do another search and up popped Red Rock K9. I had not decided on getting another puppy but just wanted to see what was out there. I read all of their information and watched every video. I was so impressed with their vision of really trying to ensure that families understood what they were getting into with the purchase of a GSD. The first thing that caught my eye was the price as I am sure it would for anyone. But I also know that you get what you pay for.
After a week or so, I filled out the on-line application and decided to discuss my needs with them. I did not indicate that I had just lost one as I did not want them to think that I was a bad doggie mom.
The other thing that impressed me right off the bat was the fact that they have a strong Christian faith which is very important to me. I really felt that God was pointing me in this direction.
I talked to Sam and discussed my needs. He then explained what they were trying to accomplish with their puppy training program. If puppies went to families that had basic obedience already, hopefully these dogs would have permanent forever homes and not end up in a shelter.
I was able to get on the list for a litter that was coming up in April of 2014. Once the litter was born, Sam posted weekly pictures so you could see how they were growing and posted videos on their training progress. I was a little skeptical at first regarding waiting until 10-11 weeks to pick up my puppy I must say.
After I picked Fiona out at about 8 weeks, a couple of weeks later Sam called me and indicated that he felt one of the other puppies showed more drive and that it might be a better fit for me. This was a direct result of the puppy training program. Sam was able to see how the puppies were progressing and as a result thought I should make a change. Had I picked this puppy up at 8 weeks old, I might have made a mistake. So I told him to make the switch and he did.
As a result, I now have a dog that has her Master Agility jumpers title at 23 months old and is working on her Master STD title. She also has an NACSW Novice Nosework title and two UKC Nose-work titles, and her Jr. dock diving title. She is not even two years old yet
I will never purchase another GSD from any other breeder and will always have the puppy training completed before I pick up the puppy. Red Rock K9 is phenomenal and the price… we’ll all I can say is that it is worth every penny. I wanted to let potential GSD owners know what a quality dog you will get from this breeder. They spend hours training these puppies and ensure a healthy and safe environment. You will not go wrong with this breeder. They are not a breeder that will sell you a puppy and then you never hear from them again. They are with you forever.
Fiona helped me through one of the most difficult times of my life and I will be forever grateful that Red Rock K9 came into my life when they did. Fiona is a wonderful companion and I love her dearly
